INSTRUCTOR

Parichard Holm grew up in Germany and started ballet dancing when she was 4 years old at the school of the State Theater Braunschweig. Twelve years later she changed to modern dance. Since an early age she has competed in top-level gymnastics and performed on stage. Later she became interested in the philosophy of Taoism and began studying the movement of Qigong.                                                               Her great passion is the art of Tai Chi Chuan and Pushing Hands.

In 1996 she became a certificated instructor of Tai Chi Qigong 18 movements.
In 1999 she began practicing Grandmaster William C. C. Chen's (New York City) Tai Chi Chuan-Yang Style and has become a certified teacher "Sifu" in Tai Chi Chuan “Body Mechanics”.

She has deepened her knowledge of Tai Chi Chuan and Pushing Hands (Toui-Shou) working with Rosa Cheng (Taipei), Luis Molera (Germany),  Nils Klug (Germany), Nathan Managed (USA), Dr. Ping-Siang Tao (Taipei), Benjamin Lo (USA) and Maggie Newman (USA). Her teachers in Qigong and Wai Tan Kung were Peter Weinrich and Master Hong Thay Lee (Germany) and Master Mantak Chia (Thailand).
She studies currently Baquazhang with Master Su Zifang in Los Angeles and takes Pushing Hands - Wu style instructions with Master Yuanhua Yan.

Ms. Holm has taught Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong classes since 1996 at sports studios, universities (Yo San University), medical rehabilitation and fitness centers as well as private corporations.  Besides teaching private classes in Mar Vista and Santa Monica, she donates her time teaching Tai Chi to homeless youth.

Her passion for teaching Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong is rooted in a deep understanding of body mechanics and its philosophical aspects: "The soft overcomes the hard".
